***Videography Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I see a demo?
A: We have several clips available on our website for High-Speed internet users or you can arrange an appointment with one of our video specialists here at our office. To keep costs down, we do not send out our DVD video demos.  Click HERE to see some samples.

Q: Do we meet with the videographer before?
A: We do encourage consultations with one of our videographers by phone or in person. We suggest starting by phone and then in person if you feel necessary. If you would like to see a demo please make arrangements with one of our full-time video specialists.

Q. How long will our video be?
A:
Most videos turn out to be 60-80 minutes in length. Our goal is to make your video entertaining to watch by keeping the viewer in mind. We’ll often layer some guest interviews while people are dancing to reduce the length and at the same time make it more enjoyable to watch.

Q: Our church is very strict with rules, can you work around them?
A:
Your church should have a list of rules for the videographer to follow, please inquire and submit any rules to us with the rest of your planning material. Many churches will not allow a Videographer to use lighting, wireless microphones or set up in areas we would prefer to, but we do our best to give you the best quality video we can. In most cases, 2 cameras are best for church ceremonies -- please be sure it’s OK with your church in advance.

Q:  Where will the videographer(s) set up?
A:  Typically Camera #1 will set up in the back of the isle for a "Safe Shot" so he can get the majority of the events.  If reserved, the Camera #2 will be up front to get close up shots of the bride & groom but may miss some shots due to the position.  Together, both camera angels will give you a beautiful combination of wide and close up shots that can only be achieved with a multiple camera shot.  Note: 1 camera shoots may not always get every shot but will be the best bet to cover the majority of events.  Multi cameras are highly recommended for weddings.

Q: Can we have the Raw Footage?
A:
Amos Productions holds the copyrights of the original footage shot and can not offer the original raw footage to our clients. (Similar to a photographer is to negatives.)  Because our cameramen shoot with editing in mind, they may take several shots from different angles of the same object. Therefore, the raw footage would not be very pleasing to watch. You will receive all the significant segments of your video.

Q: Should we provide a meal for our Videographer?
A:
Your Videographer(s) will be with you for several hours. If a meal is not provided, your Videographer will have to take a 30-45 minute meal break during your event. If a meal is provided, your Videographer is sure not to miss any important events.

Q: When should I expect my video done?
A:
All videos are produced in the order they were shot. Depending on the time of year, we average a three to five month turnaround time. Please make sure all production material (pictures, music selections, credits, planners, etc are in to us on time.

Q: Can I make copies of my Wedding Video?
A:
Professional copies can be made only from the Master. Amos Productions holds the copyrights to all video shot and/or edited.  Please check your Video Packet or call Amos Productions for current rates

Q:  Why does my DVD disc skip in 1 player but not our others?
A:  DVD-R may have compatibility issues among various DVD players 4 year of age or older and about 3% of the players manufactured today.  DVD-R technology is the standard among professional videographers through out the US and is a different encoding process than what Hollywood produces.  We constantly update our recording drivers for the latest firmware to help ensure the most compatibility available.  If you have trouble with your DVDs, try playing them in other DVD players, computers and gaming consoles with DVD drives.  Feel free to call us if you have more questions.
