Bio:
My parents moved to Pleasanton in 1967, when I was 2. My parents never bought albums or played music for my brother, sister & I in the house. Now, I have fond memories of James Taylor, Elton John, Billy Joel, The Carpenters, The Stones and other bands & songs from the car radio, But that was it. It wasn't until 1979 when an album by Oingo Boingo blew me away and opened my world to music. My uncle Mike bought me Oingo Boingo's first album, Only a Lad, and I was hooked from that moment. I was a freshman at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton at the time. I guess you can say that my friends and I were really into the New Wave movement at the time. My first concert was in 1981 when Loverboy opened for Journey at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. Seeing a concert live was the next time I was blown away by music. I've probably been to over 200 concerts. Music meant so much to me and my friends in High School that we made the dance tapes for our school dances. I guess I can say I've been a DJ since 1983, when I was a senior in High School. It was such a great feeling to see all my classmates up dancing and having a good time to the music we put together for the dances. This carried over into college. I went to San Jose State on a soccer scholarship and studied Radio, Television, Film Broadcasting with a minor in Drama. Every time there was a party in the dorms, my apartment or fraternity I was always in charge of music. It gave me great pleasure to help friends have a good time by playing music. I love listening to music, talking about music and most importantly playing music at events. I have just as much fun as everyone at one of my events even though I'm not out there on the dance floor with them.   Rich is also plays the music for all the Oakland Athletic home games.
